There comes a time around late summer that every girl finds herself wanting a new pair of shoes. Blame it on the weather or the coming of fall frenzy, but we all get that itch to refresh our shoe racks. Only, we don’t want to purchase shoes we won’t be able to wear when the weather cool a few weeks from now and we’re not quite ready for fall boots.

For those looking to invest wisely, we’re rounding up our favorite footwear offerings that transition best from summer to fall. From flatforms and mules to grandma heels and thigh high boots, our picks are fresh enough to add to your closet without worrying about a redundant purchase, and classic enough to wear forever.

Scroll down to fall head over heels (pun intended) with every shoe style you need for fall!

1. Ankle-strap wedge sandals.

When Russian beauty and street style star Elena Perminova stepped out during London Fashion Week wearing these ankle-strap wedge sandals, we officially called out this trend! Scroll down to get her shoe look.  Shop our ankle-strap wedge picks:

2) Grandma heels

When Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2015/16 and Dolce and Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2016 runway featured the chunky and practical heels our grandmother loved, we were taken aback. However, the comfortable trend is catching on and we are grateful for it, as Huffington Post said, “ These shoes are good for your body, they work for practically every occasion and they are so insanely comfortable.”

Sneakers are the officially mascot of the athleisture trend, which is officially happening. Pop Sugar described it perfectly: “It’s a stylish spin on the comfy sportswear you slide into on the weekends. Yes, sneakers and leggings may be intended for exercise, but truthfully they look equally awesome when you’re totally sweat free.”
