It’s called the HPA axis which stands for the hypothalamus, pituitary and adrenal axis. The HP are areas of the brain that sense stress and send signals to the adrenal gland that secretes cortisol to help our bodies handle stress. How Do Adaptogens Work?
When you deal with chronic stress, this is the cycle going on in your body: You encounter a high stress situation. Your body releases hormones in response to the stress.
