‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Is Coming To Broadway, as a Musical

It’s true! According to Entertainment Weekly, Sir Elton John and playwright and screenwriter, Paul Rudnick, have teamed with Fox Stage Productions to fashion a stage musical adaptation of the 2006 blockbuster comedy The Devil Wears Prada! John will compose the music, while Rudnick will write the book and lyrics. According to sources, the musical will use material from both the 2002 book by Lauren Weisberger and the 2006 movie, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. “Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting,” John says in a release. “I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.” While details of the production timeline are still unconfirmed, we are already so excited. Needless to say, we’ll be watching the DVD on repeat until then. Keep reading to see a clip of one our favorites scenes from the movie, and shop our favorite pieces inspired by the film at the end!
